This week a very dear and loyal client asked to order a ‘Bon Voyage’ cake for a collegue who was leaving. She likes vintage coral colours. So I thought why not make a vintage style hat box cake something I’ve been eager to try.
We thought this idea would fit perfectly for a farewell.
I started with a scrumtiously light and moist chocolate sponge. You cant go wrong with chocolate!
These delightful layers of sponge are then generously layered with a rich chocolate swiss meringue buttercream.
Stack and secured with ‘special’ straws.
The cake is then coved with dark chocolate ganache that gives a perfectly smooth and sturdy finish.
Once the ganache is set, decorating can begin!!
